Special Project
The Mott and Bailey at Tonbridge Castle suffered extensive damage resulting from an unstable tree. We were commissioned by Natural England to restabilise the scheduled monument feature from further erosion. Using a hydroseeding method, we sprayed fast-germinating grass species to cover all parts of the steep escarpments.
Hydroseeding utilises a spray-on application of a cellulose mulch mixed with grass seed, which adheres to the soil. It is a fast way of covering large or difficult to reach areas that may be unsuitable for turfing, or in areas where turf may be subject to theft.
